Catmosphere
Video Ads + In-game 3D Animation
I created two videos ads which were intended to draw attention to Catmosphere, our project, at an event showcasing final projects from all the students at the CDM. Both videos were animated in After Effects using Photoshop layers as source files. This was my first foray into 2D animation in After Effects.
The videos were played on rotation in the lobby of the CDM for three months additionally after the end of the event.
The third video is a highlight of the gameplay in the Catmosphere app, where my responsibilities were the animation of the cat while meowing, the design and positioning of the all the planets and the sun as the cat leaves the atmosphere, and general lighting in the app - including ambient lighting for the cat and point lighting for all the planets (including lens flares). All this was done in Unity directly.
The last video is an intro to a tutorial for the app that eventually became Catmosphere. At that point it was an AR app that involved orbs that would interact with your environment in different ways - one would produce different sounds on contact with environmental planes based on the shape of the plane and another would burst into thousands of seeds that would plant themselves and grow into a forest around you. This concept was eventually scrapped for what became Catmosphere.
